It's hard to improve on the classic chocolate chip cookie. However, we couldn't resist adding our own spin on a classic recipe by using our walnuts. These cookies strike a delightful balance, combining the rich, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate with the earthy, nutty goodness of walnuts. With a satisfying crunch and subtle richness, these cookies are bound to impress.
Preheat the oven to 350° F and position rack in the middle of the oven. In a medium size bowl, mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, and salt).
Using a stand or handheld electric mixer, cream butter and both sugars at medium speed until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs and vanilla, increase speed to medium-high, and beat until smooth.
Reduce the speed of mixer to low, and begin adding in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and Valley Walnuts.
Arrange tablespoon-sized balls of the cookie dough at least 1 1/2 inches apart on the large baking sheet and bake for 11 minutes for softer cookies and up to 15 minutes for crispier cookies. Allow to cool on wire rack.
